Jeanette was called to the Bar in 2012. She completed her training at a London Chambers in Temple.

Before becoming a barrister, Jeanette had a previous career in the Police Force and has also spent time working as a Detective for a specialist team at the UK Home Office Criminal & Financial Investigations  where alot of time was spent investigating complex OCG's. During her time at The Home Office, Jeanette was appointed to the Fugitives Unit,  travelling abroad and working in partnership with agencies such as Europol, Interpol & International Police Forces. Jeanette has also spent time working for The Crown Prosecution Service as a Crown Prosecutor learning the inns and outs of the CPS.

Jeanette has over 20 years experience in police, criminal investigations and court and has enjoyed success working on a number of different TV projects advising on anything from legal dress to law and procedure on a number of TV shows.

Jeanette fought hard to qualify as a Barrister and came to the Bar from a non-traditional background without having had the opportunity in her younger years to study A-Levels following being orphaned as a child and being fostered in her childhood. However in pursuit of her dream, she remained determined in her quest .You can read more about her story here: LINK

Scholarships

To afford to study Jeanette impressed and was awarded a number of scholarships over the years.  Interestingly, when  Jeanette needed some extra cash to qualify,  Jeanette, thinking outside the box, applied and appeared on a TV game show on ITV to win the rest of the cash she needed .

Ask her about it, it's quite a story!

Commendations

Jeanette has received a number of commendations during her career including a Crown Court Judge commendation for her investigation into a conspiracy to breach UK immigration laws by a organised crime gang arranging sham marriages. There were 6 defendants. The Commendation stated:

“His Honour Judge Brown commends the officer for the way in which the case was investigated and the evidence collated. It was a cross jurisdictional complex case and the officer was professional, thorough and impressive throughout”

She also received a commendation for her work as a Detective for the UK Home Office Criminal and Financial Crime and Fugitives Team.

Jeanette  therefore is able to use her experience as an Investigator of Organised Crime Gangs to advise writers and producers in stories involving organised crime.
